Potential New Interchange on Interstate 8
The Arizona Department of Transportation is proposing a potential new traffic interchange on I-8, approximately one mile west of Interstate 10.

Project Overview
Numerous commercial and residential developments are planned for the area, and over time, growth rates for the City of Casa Grande are expected to continue to increase. The proposed traffic interchange, which is currently along the alignment of Henness Road, will provide improved local access to areas north and south of I-8 while minimizing congestion and disruptions to traffic at the existing I-8 interchanges at Thornton and Blanco roads. The project is being administered by ADOT and the planning, design and construction of the project are being funded privately.
In addition to the design of the potential new traffic interchange, other project activities may include:
- The relocation of existing utilities
- Construction or extension of drainage features
- Construction of entrance and exit ramps
- Other improvements that may be identified by the roadway design team
Project Schedule
- Currently in design phase
- A public meeting was held on May 20, 2010
- Construction is currently estimated to begin in January 2012
- Anticipated to last approximately nine months
